Jim Rudolph

Jim Rudolph, 78, died at 11:11 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 at his Alliance home. The local entrepreneur was well known in the area for his dedication to his family business, Rudolph Brother’s Grocery. He was also the owner of Jim’s Carryout. Born on January 9, 1932 to the late John and Ruth (Calladine) Rudolph of Alliance, Jim graduated with the class of 1950 from Alliance High School. Jim went on to become a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1951-1953. After being stationed at Fort McNair, Washington, D.C., he settled down in his hometown to start a family and continue his business until he retired in November of 2005. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Dawn (Ruff) Rudolph in 2005, and beloved son Bret. He will be missed by his two daughters, Debra (Robert) Wallace of Copley and Julie Wheeler of Green, son Bradley Rudolph of Monroe and brother, Roland (Mary Ann) Rudolph of Homeworth. His patient smile and charismatic humor will always be a wonderful memory for his five granddaughters Rachel and Rebecca Wallace, Lindsay, Karah, and Haley Rudolph; and two grandsons Kyle and Jake Wheeler. Jim loved the warmth and laughter that filled his home during family get-togethers while enjoying pool, cards, and cornhole alongside his children, grandchildren and family friends. He was well-respected by customers, family and friends for his generosity. Jim’s work ethic, and love for his family will forever be remembered by everyone he encountered. The family would like to send out a special thank you to long-time family friend Karen Rice for the continuous care and love she has given to the Rudolph family over the years.
