Dorothy Bean Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dorothy J. Bean, age 85, of Alliance, died Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Altercare of Alliance. She was born December 31, 1923 in Alliance, Ohio to John and Rosa (Spall) Turk and was a lifelong resident. Dorothy was employed as a Clerk at G. C. Murphy’s for many years and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. She will be greatly missed by her family, which includes four daughters; Nancy (Bill) Roosa, Jeanie (Roger) Leishman, Joyce (Mike) Woods and Virginia (Mark) Ruff; and one son, Bart (Jennie) Bean; all of Alliance; fifteen grandchildren, Steve, Jenny, Chris, Tim, Kevin, D.J., Kami, Marissa, Logan, Josh, Curtis, Jimmy, Jonathan, Angela, and Daniel; nine great-grandchildren, Chancelor, Laela, Blake, Madison, Drake, Cassandra, Jayse, Alex and Abby; one sister, Shirley (Bob) Kline of Alliance, one brother, Art (Betty) Turk of Arizona; and one sister-in-law, Betty Turk of Maryland. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Barton Bean, whom she married in March 1953, and who died Oct. 28, 1972; sisters, Velma Turk, Helen Allen, and infant sister, Rose; and five brothers, John, Fred, Ed, Bob and Don. Private family services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2009 at the Walton-Schrader Funeral Home, with Rev. Pam Bruno, Pastor of First Christian Church officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Walton-Schrader Funeral Home, 1131 West State Street, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
