Frank “Karl” Berger

Frank “Karl” Berger, 84, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at 1:30 a.m. at Crandall Medical Center. He was born on June 5, 1930 in Butler Township and lived in Alliance most of his life. Karl was a graduate of Goshen High School and was a milk hauler for most of his life. After retirement he was a field man for Milk Marketing. He also hauled water and filled swimming pools throughout Stark County. A Korean War Veteran, Karl served our country in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Alliance Masonic Temple, Conrad Lodge. In his past-time, he enjoyed golfing and was a member of Tannenhauf Golf Course. In the winters, he vacationed in Myrtle Beach and golfed. Karl also enjoyed bowling and going to Mount Union Football games. He especially enjoyed going to polka festivals. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Thomas) Gluzinski of Lindenhurst, IL; and a granddaughter, Nicole (Benjiman) Stroup of Volo, IL; a brother Wade (Barbara) Berger of Salem; a niece and three nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Kathleen W. Berger on May 25, 2012, they were married on March 14, 1951; and his parents, Frank and Bessie (Zeller) Berger. The family will receive friends at Walton-Schrader Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, 2015, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Masonic Service will be held on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Walton-Schrader Funeral Home on Friday, April 17, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor David Ashbrook officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
